Inhalt:
The workplace is full of challenges, deadlines and interpersonal demands. Opportunities for experiencing stress and burnout abound. However, some people are able to operate from a deep place of authenticity and courage that allows them to face people and crises creatively. People who function in this way are better equipped to approach the stresses and complexity of organizational life with innovation and resilience.
Resilience and creativity are available to us all of the time, however sometimes they are difficult to access because of anxiety, boredom, defensiveness or just feeling overwhelmed. Many of these obstacles can be transformed through the practice of mindfulness. New research in neuroscience shows the benefits of mindfulness for mental and physical health. These simple, yet effective practices allow us to understand and accept our fears while also cultivating confidence in our innate abilities. The power of authenticity can then become available to us, even under the most difficult circumstances.
Susan Skjei has extensive experience with mindfulness practices that build on the neuroplasticity of the mind. She has worked professionally as a leadership and organizational consultant with executives in the US and abroad for over 20 years. Susan also developed a certificate program in “Authentic Leadership” which she has continued to offer at Naropa University for the last 10 years. This program, with its emphasis on mindfulness, awareness and social engagement has forged new ground in the exploration of these principles.
This talk is based on her own experience and research and will also incorporate the personal experiences of participants.
